On February 22, the news was released that Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro, had been arrested at the Dulles International Airport for drug trafficking.

Given this, the 31-year-old woman was sentenced to be in the jail temporarily, until your case has been fully clarified.

Today, several photographs of Emma’s past at age 17 came to light, a time when the former model and one of the most wanted men at that time, met thanks to a beauty pageant.

Through an Instagram account called @narcoguerra_mx, we can see a photograph of Emma Coronel’s previous life, where we see her with a dress golden, with high neck in red details.

In the photograph, taken around 2006-2007, we can see that Chapo’s wife had her hair completely different from how we know her, since in that memory, Emma found herself with wavy and completely black hair.

In another image, provided by the account @ followingofamosos12, we can notice the great physical difference that Emma Coronel has in the present, thanks to her surgeries, since a brief comparison is made of a current photo to one of when she was competing for queen of beauty in his native Canelas, Durango.

In this snapshot, she wears a silk dress with brown sequins, while the young woman, then 17 years old, posed in profile in front of the camera with a small smile.

It should be noted that it was thanks to these beauty contests that Emma Coronel and Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán met, since it was there that the capo “conquered” the future mother of his children.

According to the Mexican portal, Excelsior, the drug trafficker originally from Sinaloa, decided that Emma Coronel would be his wife, so he not only waited for her to come of age, but also for her to be crowned queen of the Guava and Coffee Fair.

It was in 2007 when Emma organized the best dance, in her community they played the group Los Canelos de Durango, who arrived with Guzmán Loera, and his, then partner, and Emma’s uncle, Ignacio Coronel Villarreal.

That was the second time where El Chapo dedicated several songs to the contestant, moving his cards so that the young woman also fell in love with him.

On the other hand, and before her arrest, Emma Coronel gave an interview for the program Wake up America, where it was commented that the capo has more than 30 years.
