The announcement of the cancellation of appointments for the CBP One program, made following the inauguration of Donald Trump as President of the United States, has left thousands of migrants in a state of uncertainty and desolation.
At the Santa Fe Bridge, on the border between Mexico and the United States, about 50 migrants learned about the suspension of their scheduled appointments.
These appointments were for entry into the United States under a permit being offered during the Biden administration.
In light of the events, various images emerged of immigrants who were hoping to have their appointment for the United States.

What is CBP One?
CBP One is a mobile application created during Joe Biden’s government in 2023 to manage the entry of migrants through the southern border of the United States.
Asylum seekers in Mexico could schedule appointments to be processed at entry ports, which prevented irregular crossings and long waits.
Since its implementation, more than 930,000 people used the application, allowing the entry of about 44,000 migrants in December 2024, according to data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The main nationalities that benefited were Venezuelans, Cubans, and Mexicans.

However, human rights organizations criticized the program, pointing out that it forced migrants to wait in Mexico, exposed to cartel violence, and restricted access to asylum.
In his inaugural speech, Trump announced drastic measures at the border, including militarization, mass deportations, and blocking access to asylum seekers.
Moreover, the cancellation of CBP One is part of these policies, which have generated criticism both within and outside the United States.
The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported that all appointments scheduled through the application were canceled, leaving thousands of migrants without clear alternatives.
