The former backup singer for Gloria Trevi recounted the day she and the singer from Monterrey, Nuevo León, had a fight in prison.

Gloria Trevi and Mary Boquitas had a falling out

First, Mary Boquitas recalled on her podcast that neither she nor Gloria knew how to handle their friendship when they were in the Chihuahua prison.

«Growing further apart, the straw that broke the camel’s back was ironically someone named ‘Libertad,'» Raquenel said.

Then she shared that the transgender actress, who is very famous in Mexico, offered to support her with a charity show.

It turned out that Mary needed a large sum of money for an expensive varicose vein operation. That would be the beginning of the end.

«It’s not like you’re dying»

The feud between Mary Boquitas and Gloria Trevi was about to begin. Unfortunately, the charity show didn’t raise enough money.

«With what was raised, we had enough to cover some injections that would reduce the swelling in my legs, and I felt very happy and grateful,» she said.

Then something happened that she still doesn’t understand to this day: Gloria, unable to hide her annoyance, accused her of being a liar.

«It’s not like you’re dying for them to do a charity show for you. You’re a liar and a swindler,» the singer said.

Mary Boquitas saw red

Almost immediately, Mary Boquitas responded to Gloria Trevi like she had never done before. She no longer intended to remain silent.

«Do you call me a swindler because I need money for an operation? You, who didn’t pay me a dime in all the years I worked for you?»

Raquenel’s accusations against the singer continued: «Do you call me a friend? You slept with my husband.»

At that moment, Gloria turned pale, and Mary was in shock, realizing what she had said and how much anger she had been repressing for years.

«I suppose Gloria had a tough night. The truth is, in all this drama between friends, here we were, still, like a pair of idiots,» Raquenel said.

The former backup singer said that she and Trevi grew even further apart than they already were, although they continued to maintain a cordial relationship in front of others.
