The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Lisa Guerino allegedly ran a stop sign in her Jeep Grand Cherokee at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday in Sin City after drinking at Jackpot Joanie’s casino.
“She had five shots of Patron,” Clark County Prosecutor Shanon Clowers told a judge this week, according to the report. “We have the receipt for it. She lives in the neighborhood. She was seen getting out of the vehicle, ”she added referring to the woman accused of the tragedy.
A deadly crash
A passenger in a Volkswagen SUV, identified as Stephens Palmatier Jr, 37, of Las Vegas, died at the scene. Palmatier’s 3-year-old son was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Two other people who were in the vehicle, including a 6-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries, police said.
Police later located Lisa Guerino at her nearby home after she fled the crash site. According to prosecutor Shanon Clowers, Guerino initially claimed that she had been lying in bed at the time of the fatal accident, but evidence proved otherwise.

Justice of the Peace Elana Lee Graham said Thursday of Lisa Guerino: “What she did, the steps she took to evade capture, is significant.” She in turn cited a police account alleging that the defendant was caught on a casino surveillance camera while she was drunk, the local newspaper reported.
The results of Lisa Guerino’s blood test were not released Thursday, but the Clark County Public Defender’s Office said the test was not performed until four hours later. The woman is facing felonies including two counts of DUI causing death of substantial bodily harm. Graham set her bail at $100,000 and ordered her not to drive if she was released, the Review-Journal reported. She was still in the Clark County Detention Center as of Friday, the online record showed.
