Deep in the jungle of the Pilcomayo River, stood a peculiar tree shaped like a bottle, known among the local tribes as «Woman» or «Mother attached to the earth».

This denomination was not by chance, but had its roots in an ancient legend.

Long ago, in a jungle tribe, lived a young woman of great beauty whose heart beat only for a brave warrior.

They loved each other deeply, but their happiness was threatened when the tribe became embroiled in a conflict.

The warrior departed for battle, leaving his beloved with the promise of eternal love. However, days passed and the warriors did not return.

Finally, it was known that many of them would never return. The young woman, devastated by the loss of her beloved, closed her heart to the world, rejecting any suitor who approached her.

In her grief, she decided to venture into the dense jungle, determined to let herself die. It was then that some hunters, traversing those territories, found her lifeless among the vegetation.

As they tried to move her body to take it back to the village, they were surprised to see branches sprouting from her arms and her head leaning towards the trunk.

The hands of the young woman had turned into white flowers, a testimony to the tears shed for her lost love, while her blood had dyed the flowers a pink hue, in honor of the brave warrior’s sacrifice.

The news of this supernatural phenomenon spread throughout the village, sowing fear among the inhabitants.

Days later, a group of brave hunters ventured further into the jungle and found the transformed young woman, no longer as a girl, but as a sturdy tree whose white flowers had turned into roses, a living monument to love and sacrifice.
