Tragic end had the influencer Mariano Soto Cortez,

director of the Tijuana uncensored website, who was shot to death just like the ‘Pirata’ from Culiacán.

According to information from Excelsior, the influencer, who had denounced a series of executions and police abuses, was shot to death last Sunday afternoon while driving his car.

The attackers fled aboard a gray Cadillac vehicle after shooting Mariano Soto Cortes in the chest, with an ending just as regrettable as that of the ‘Pirate’ of Culiacán, who was killed on December 18, 2017, allegedly for having insulted Nemesio Oseguera, better known as ‘El Mencho’, leader of the Poster Jalisco New Generation.

It was announced that just on September 16, the influencer was attacked by armed men, receiving three bullets on that occasion: two in the back and one in the arm, but his life was not in danger.

Mariano Soto Cortez held Arturo González Cruz responsible just this Saturday, the day before his murder, President municipal of Tijuana, of any attack against him, as well as Jorge Ayón Monsalve, secretary of Public Security.

Both, the influencer had denounced for an unreported seizure of 600 kilos of cocaine before the Attorney General’s Office.

A year ago, influencer Mariano Soto Cortez was sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to extortion, and a few months earlier, in May 2019, he was in detention.

According to investigations, the influencer had requested money in exchange for not starting a smear campaign against a businessman. He was released from semi-freedom just as the coronavirus pandemic began.

As mentioned above, Mariano Soto Cortez was not strictly speaking a journalist, but that was not an impediment for him to have the protection mechanism of the federal government.

A video resurfaces in which Juan Luis Lagunas Rosales, better known as ‘El Pirata’ from Culiacán, appears, where he threatens the leader of the CJNG, Nemesio Oseguera ‘El Mencho’ and they believe that is why they killed him.

In the video, the young man is heard saying the following verbatim: «The ‘Mencho’ makes me hard to see …». This circulated days before the influencer was executed with several bullets inside the Menta2 Cántaros bar, in the city of Zapopan, in the state of Jalisco.

The young man was born in 2000 in Villa Juárez, in the state of Sinaloa, the birthplace of famous drug lords and a region dominated by narcoculture.

The youtuber who grew up without his parents and cared for by his grandmother became popular on the networks because during the parties he attended he ingested large amounts of alcohol and drugs, to later be recorded in a completely drunken state.

The charisma and ‘courage’ presented by Juan Luis Lagunas Rosales, El ‘Pirata’ from Culiacán, led him to be famous on the Internet and many people wanted to party with him.
