Rosa Isela Guzmán Ortiz’s public appearance shocked Mexico and the entire world. Facing US media, she claimed she was the eldest daughter of Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán. Ortiz did something that few would dare to do.

According to El Universo, based on various sources, it is believed that El Chapo could have anywhere from 13, 18, or even 23 children. But so far Joaquin Guzmán Loera has only recognized 10 of his children from his three marriages.

Many others have claimed that El Chapo is their father. Joaquín Guzmán Loera has not recognized most of them, including Rosa Isela. More than one have tried to say the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel is their father in an attempt to get involved with the family or receive some of El Chapo’s fortune.

In 2016, a woman who says she is the oldest child of El Chapo Guzmán came out to make a statement to the press. Rosa Isela Guzmán Ortiz, currently 45 years old, is also known as ‘La Barbie’. She is a cosmetologist and businesswoman in the world of beauty.

In an interview Rosa Isela gave to People en Español, she said that Joauín Guzmán Loera has 16 children and that she the oldest Guzmán heir.

She was seen to be very involved in her father’s last trials in the United States. She spoke frequently with various media. However, her plans to continue accompanying her parents were interrupted thanks to the fact that Rosa Isela’s cancer returned.
