Five years after the end of the iconic show ‘Caso Cerrado,’ Dr. Ana María Polo shared her reflections on her time in the show, as well as the possibility of a return, in a recent conversation with journalist Lourdes Del Río on her podcast ‘En Positivo.’
Polo, who became a television icon in the Hispanic community due to her unique style and focus on legal and personal cases, revealed surprising details about how the show operated.
«There were many cases that were re-enacted, not by professional actors, but by people who felt or had cases similar to what was happening,» she explained.
Despite this dynamic, Dr. Polo admitted that she never knew when a case was real or re-enacted.

«I was fully involved, I felt my cases,» she shared, recalling how the emotional intensity even affected her health, leading to hypertension due to the strain of her work.
Regarding the possibility of returning to television, Polo was clear: «I never say no because you never know.» However, she set specific conditions for her return.
«If the perfect conditions were met, which for me means finding a production team like the one I had, trained for nearly 20 years, and a producer willing to capture the essence of ‘Caso Cerrado’ without playing games,» she asserted.
This reflects her desire to maintain the authenticity and quality that characterized the show.
Polo Shared Her Concerns About Current Television
Polo also expressed her concerns about the evolution of current television, noting that many of today’s predominant formats, such as reality shows, don’t appeal to her.
«We Latinos have a different idiosyncrasy when it comes to entertainment,» she said, emphasizing the difference between U.S. programming styles and those of the Hispanic community.
As for her motivation to return, she made it clear that money wouldn’t be the reason.
«I’m very conservative; I earned well, worked hard, and saved a lot. That’s not the incentive to do television again,» she expressed.
