The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, has agreed to allow the United States to deport to his country undocumented migrants who commit serious crimes.
In addition, he offered to house dangerous criminals of American nationality who are imprisoned.
The announcement was made by the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, after a meeting lasting almost three hours with Bukele.
The meeting took place at the Salvadoran president’s estate on Lake Coatepeque.

Rubio detailed that El Salvador will receive criminals of any nationality deported from the U.S.
This includes members of gangs like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua.
But the most surprising proposal came from Bukele, who offered to also imprison American criminals.
Rubio described this offer as «an unprecedented gesture of friendship.»
The Secretary of State said he discussed the matter with President Donald Trump.
According to Rubio, Bukele’s proposal shows that he is «an incredible friend» to the United States.
