The Brazilian Influencers Refused Life Jackets to Protect Photos and Tans

Commissioner Marcos Alexandre Alfino confirmed that both influencers refused life jackets.

Witnesses reported that they declined the jackets, saying they “interfered with tanning” and “ruined photos.”

That day, the group of friends was enjoying a party filled with music and photos on a luxury boat.

Toward the evening, they decided to head back, splitting into two boats due to excess passengers.

Aline Tamara Moreira de Amorim and Beatriz Tavares da Silva Faria boarded a small, overloaded boat with six people, even though its capacity was five.

During the journey, a large wave hit the boat, filling it with water and causing it to sink quickly.

Without life jackets, Aline and Beatriz struggled in vain to stay afloat in the water.

Vanessa Audrey da Silva, one of the survivors, recounted the moments of terror they experienced.

At the last moment, she managed to put on a life jacket and cling to a rock to avoid being swept away.

Another survivor, Camila Alves, described holding onto a life jacket and gasoline canisters to stay afloat.

Despite rescue efforts, Beatriz Tavares da Silva Faria was found dead shortly after, near the site of the accident.

Aline’s body was recovered a week later on a beach several kilometers from the accident site.
