Brazilian influencer Gabriel Freitas, known for his impressive weight loss of 384 pounds (174 kilograms) that made him a star of a reality show, passed away at the age of 37 after suffering a heart attack while sleeping on December 30.

Freitas, who had more than 70,000 followers on Instagram, shared his daily struggle to lose weight again after facing a difficult period marked by the loss of his father and brother.

His close friend, Ricardo Gouvea, confirmed the news and expressed:

«Gabriel died practically asleep, he didn’t suffer. He died trying. He fought until the end, he was a very strong person with a very good heart.»

Gabriel Freitas’ story captured the attention of the Brazilian public in 2017 when he appeared on the «Programa do Gugu» in the «Virou Outra Pessoa» (Became Another Person) segment.

During his first transformation, he managed to reduce his weight from 320 kilograms to only 115 kilograms in a year and a half, based on a balanced diet and constant exercise.

However, the death of his father and brother triggered a relapse, and Gabriel regained weight, reaching over 380 kilograms just before his passing.

Despite his difficulties, he announced last October his determination to start a new weight-loss journey, writing on social media:

«A new phase is about to begin for me. No matter what, I will get up on November 1st with God’s help.»

Gabriel also documented his transformation process on his YouTube channel «Mi Universo Paralelo» (My Parallel Universe), where he shared his experiences and motivated others not to give up.
