The Joe Biden administration has approved emergency aid for areas affected by an uncontrolled wildfire in Los Angeles County.
Strong winds have fueled the flames, forcing the evacuation of more than 30,000 people.
«My team and I are in contact with state and local officials to provide the necessary assistance,» Biden said in a statement.
The FEMA agency has authorized initial aid to cover the immediate costs of fighting the fire, the White House reported.

President Joe Biden held a call with Bob Fenton, FEMA’s administrator in the area, to assess the situation.
The fire, which is affecting a forested region surrounded by homes, grew from 200 acres in the morning to 3,000 acres by the afternoon.
Shelters have been set up, and firefighters are battling the flames in residential areas.
Experts warn that the worst of the wildfires may still be ahead, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Firefighting planes have been deployed, state media reported.
