The United States government announced that in about a week and a half, it will begin processing the new “Golden Card.”

“I’m very excited because in about a week and a half we’ll begin issuing the ‘Golden Card.’”
That’s how Lutnick expressed it, emphasizing President Donald Trump’s vision of attracting great wealth to the country through this new immigration program.
Businessman and current presidential advisor Elon Musk also stated that this special residency “will be operational in about a week.”
This confirms that preparations are in their final stages.

The initiative aims to attract international millionaires by offering them a fast track to legal residency in the United States, with benefits similar to those of Green Card holders.
However, the “Trump Card” would include tax exemptions: beneficiaries would not have to pay federal taxes on income earned outside the country—something that does apply to U.S. citizens.
In addition, the physical card, presented by Trump himself on April 4 aboard Air Force One, is gold-colored and features the president’s face along with the phrase “Trump Card.”
A play on words that, in English, can also mean “the winning card” or “the ace up the sleeve.”
The President Wants to “Sell Millions”
Since reassuming the presidency on January 20, Trump has heavily promoted this new document as a key product of his administration.
He stated that the government hopes to “sell millions” of golden cards during his term.
The measure has sparked mixed reactions both domestically and internationally, especially due to its contrast with other, more restrictive immigration policies.
While some business sectors applaud the idea as an incentive to attract capital, critics argue that it favors the wealthy while overlooking those who migrate out of necessity or persecution.
