Trader Joe’s cookie recall: If you bought these popular desserts, toss them!

Trader Joe’s cookie recall. A few weeks ago, the Enjoy Life company issued a recall of 13 desserts after an internal quality control review found that the baked cookies could contain pieces of hard plastic.

Now, Enjoy Life has expanded the recall to include some cookies sold at Trader Joe’s supermarkets and added some additional expiration dates to the baked goods from the original recall. The company indicated that people who eat any of the affected products are at risk of injury.

Enjoy Life and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a new press release covering the latest updates of the recall. A batch of cookies sold at Trader Joe’s is also included, stated BGR.

The affected product sold at Trader Joe’s, a supermarket chain with more than 530 stores nationwide, is Trader Joe’s Soft Baked Snickerdoodle Cookies, 6 oz. – Retail UPC: 0094 0757 with expiration date: 3/2/2023.

Enjoy Life adds new products to the recall

Enjoy Life also added three more Best Buy dates to the previous list of Enjoy Life desserts: Soft Baked Cookies – Snickerdoodle, 6. oz – Retail UPC: 853522000184, Expiration Date: 2/4/2023; Soft Baked Fruit & Oat Breakfast Ovals – Apple Cinnamon, 8.8 oz – Retail UPC: 819597012569, Expiration Date: 2/3/2023 & Soft Baked Fruit & Nut Breakfast Ovals – Berry Medley, 8.8 oz – Retail UPC : 819597012583, expiration date: 3/2/2023.

How were the new products incorporated into the recall?

The company became aware of the additional items as a result of its internal investigation. The FDA indicated that this voluntary recall is limited only to the products and the indicated expiration dates that are sold in retail stores and online in the United States. They also asserted that no other product is affected by the voluntary recall.

“Consumers who have one of the recalled products should not eat it and should dispose of any product they may have, but should keep any available packaging and contact the company at 1-855-543-5335 for more information about the recall and how receive a refund,” the FDA said, adding that Consumer Relations specialists are available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST. Have injuries been reported from the affected products?

Enjoy Life said in a statement that it has so far received no reports of injuries or illnesses related to the products included in the cookie recall, however, that does not make the Enjoy Life or Trader Joe’s products included in the recall safe to eat
