A tragedy unfolded as Chuck Coleman, while performing in an air stunt show in New Mexico, lost his life.
Charles Thomas Coleman, his full name, was Tom Cruise’s flight instructor for the movie Top Gun: Maverick.
This accident happened on Sunday, October 20th, but the sad news was only revealed this Tuesday.

According to reports from La Vanguardia, Chuck Coleman was performing acrobatic maneuvers in his plane.
At one point, Tom Cruise’s flight instructor lost control and crashed into the ground.

Charles Thomas was just half a kilometer west of the Las Cruces airport in New Mexico.
Emergency services declared him dead at the scene of the accident.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the events.
Following Tom Cruise’s flight instructor’s death, the event was immediately suspended.
The airport was also closed for several hours.
In total, Charles had been in the air for four minutes, performing various maneuvers.
