The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued a bulletin about the formation of Tropical Depression 13, currently located 745 kilometers southwest of the southernmost islands of Cabo Verde.

According to the NHC, the tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour (55 km/h) and is moving west at a speed of 7 miles per hour (11 km/h).

Although no coastal alerts are in place yet, meteorologists warn that the depression could strengthen and become a hurricane in the coming days.

The National Hurricane Center also noted that the system has a minimum central pressure of 1006 mb.

NHC experts caution that these types of systems, even when far from the coasts, should be closely monitored, especially due to how quickly they can intensify.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Eleven-E, affecting the southern coast of Mexico, remains a significant threat.

According to an NHC report, this system is located 190 km south of Puerto Ángel, Oaxaca, with maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour (55 km/h).

The depression could turn into a tropical storm at any moment, with the potential to generate torrential rains of up to 12 inches in some regions of southern Mexico.

This could lead to flooding and landslides in states such as Chiapas, Oaxaca, Veracruz, and Tabasco.

The National Hurricane Center has issued a tropical storm warning for some areas, including Lagunas de Chacahua and Boca de Pijijiapan, expecting conditions to worsen within the next 36 hours.

Additionally, the NHC has warned that swells generated by the system could be deadly, as they will cause strong rip currents along the affected coasts.
