Latest news: July Fourth celebrations are over and a wave of gun violence has stained Independence Day in the US. At least 13 are reported dead and 29 injured in various shootings across the country.
MundoNOW reported a shooting at a pool party in Texas, where at least two 17- and 18-year-olds were killed. While in Chicago, several shootings left eight dead: including one man from a gunshot to the head and another victim found with injuries and taken to a hospital where he ultimately died.
Multiple injuries and deaths over July 4th weekend

In addition to a 29-year-old man who died from a gunshot wound to the back, there is another 24-year-old man who was shot on the porch of a house and a 38-year-old man who was injured by a man in a sedan-type car outside of his house, according to The Sun.
Also in Chicago a group of four people were attacked on Friday and a 17-year-old was shot by an unidentified assailant. The incident occurred around 12 am on Sunday, according to the outlet.
Mass shooting on the 4th of July

On July 4th, a mass shooting left at least five injured in Parkway Gardens, according to Chicago police. Among the victims was a 17-year-old boy who was taken to a nearby hospital after the attack, a 30-year-old man, two other 19-year-olds and a person who was shot in the knee, reported NBC Chicago.
The victims seemed to be in stable condition, while the authorities began to investigate. It was revealed that the shooter could have been riding in a black SUV.

The Guatemalan Foreign Ministry reported this Sunday that the death toll in the June 27 tragedy in Texas rose to 16 people, after the identification of ten new bodies. The Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated in a press release that the 16 deceased «are fully identified» and that their ages range between 13 and 37 years.
The tragedy left at least 53 people of Mexican, Guatemalan and Honduran nationality asphyxiated, after the migrants were abandoned by human traffickers inside a truck in San Antonio, Texas, according to EFE. Filed Under: Latest News 4 July

Singer R. Kelly, sentenced in New York to 30 years in prison for organized crime and sexual abuse and trafficking, remains under suicide watch in prison for his own safety, according to documents presented by the prosecution to the federal court.
