Since his murder, some theories have been put forward about the alleged motives.

WHY WAS VALENTÍN ELIZALDE KILLED?

El Gallo de Oro was killed at the age of 27 when leaving a concert in a palenque in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, according to El Universal.

According to the rumors of the time, Valentín Elizalde was warned not to give the concert.

His truck was shot several times and was found less than a hundred yards from the place where he had been singing minutes before.

At least 70 cartridges were found at the brutal crime scene. The beloved Hispanic singer died in the attack.

‘Tano’ Elizalde was the El Gallo de Oro’s cousin and he survived the brutal attack despite being shot seven times, according to El Universal.

Tano accompanied him to all his shows, and the last one in Reynosa, Tamaulipas was no exception.

The most likely theory, according to El Universal, indicates that one of Valentín Elizalde’s songs «signed his death sentence».

This is because it supposedly contains a message from Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán for Los Zetas.

THE CORRIDO THAT ALLEGEDLY LED TO HIS DEATH

The supposed corrido that would end the life of Valentín Elizalde was the one called A Mis Enemigos, which, according to the theories of the time, he was asked not to perform that fatal concert because it was “Zetas territory”.

However, El Gallo de Oro didn’t heed the threats and began to sing the song.

Some say that he ordered his murder at the exit of the palenque in Tamaulipas, according to El Universal.

Another theory is that El Gallo de Oro refused to sing at a private party for members of organized crime after his performance and that this was the reason for his brutal murder.

Many remember the tragic end of the singer Chalino Sánchez who, while he was in the middle of a performance was handed a note by security personnel.

VALENTÍN ELIZALDE ALLEGEDLY RECEIVED A DEATH THREAT

After receiving the alleged threat, Valentín Elizalde got into a vehicle with Mario Mendoza, who also lost his life.

About 60 shots were fired at the vehicle they were traveling in. Valentín Elizalde and Mario Mendoza died at the scene.

Tano Elizalde, the singer’s cousin, was with them that day, and he has said in several interviews that, at the time of the attack, he was lying down on the seat because he was feeling ill.

Tano was the only survivor of the attack.
