Microwave Cleaning Hacks: The Lemon Trick and Other Simple Tips
Vinegar
This microwave cleaning hack is sure to become one of your favorites, and it involves an ingredient used in just about every household chore…vinegar! With an average cost of $8 dollars per container, vinegar is a must for every pantry. You just have to put two cups of water in a container and add two tablespoons of vinegar. Leave the container inside the microwave and run it on high for five minutes. Remove the container and wipe down the interior with a cloth or paper towel.
Microwave cleaning hacks: The lemon trick
This procedure is similar to the one performed with the vinegar mixture. Lemon creates an ideal atmosphere to easily remove all the gunk inside your microwave. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into a microwave-safe cup of water. Put the mixture inside and run your microwave for five minutes. Then just wipe away the grime!
Window cleaner
When using this technique, remember that it is best to avoid any contact with any other cleaning substance, as most window cleaners contain ammonia. In a microwavable container, place a bowl of water and spray about ten drops of window cleaner into it. Let the microwave work for a few minutes and, once you have removed the container with the mixture, delicately wipe it down. It will be as good as new!
Clean your microwave with a wet towel
This is probably one of the easiest and most practical microwave cleaning hacks out there. All you need is a small towel (that does not contain any metal or other material). After moistening it with water, put it in the microwave for a minute or two, and then clean the inside of the appliance. This technique works thanks to the fact that the humidity of the towel helps to soften the stains and make them easier to remove. However, you must be careful not to burn yourself so it’s best to let the oven cool down a bit before wiping.
Baking soda
Is impossible to forget baking soda! Like vinegar, this pantry staple multitasks, including deep cleaning just about anything. Mix one part water with two parts baking soda to obtain a pasty and powerful mixture will remove the most difficult stains. Let stand for five minutes and clean with a cloth moistened with water, lemon or vinegar.
