A recent live interview from Times Square for Fox News’ Hannity took an entirely unexpected turn that shocked viewers.

The founder of Guardian Angels, Curtis Sliwa, began railing against New York City Mayor Eric Adams at the start of the interview.

Sliwa accused him of favoring illegal immigrants over local residents. Later on it spiraled into a complete disaster.

Initially, Sliwa expressed concern about a program that provides prepaid credit cards to immigrant families housed in city hotels.

During the interview, Sliwa complained about what he considers an unjust policy: «I’m his number one hater,» he began.

«Join the Curtis Sliwa haters club of Eric Adams who is single-handedly destroying this city by giving illegal aliens everything!» he said during the uncomfortable exchange.

This interview was conducted by Sean Hannity of Fox.

The former Republican mayoral candidate for New York City questioned Adams’ approach, arguing that he is neglecting his own constituents.

«This mayor just doesn’t seem to get it. He takes care of the illegal aliens and forsakes his own people,» Sliwa complained.

Meanwhile, members of the Guardian Angels who were standing behind Sliwa stepped away to check out some ‘suspicious’ activity.

Sliwa informed Sean Hannity that his colleagues were intervening in a criminal incident nearby, and the ensuing footage was bizarre.

In an unexpected turn, Sliwa revealed: «In fact, our guys have just taken down one of the migrant guys on the corner of 42nd and 7th where all of this has taken place.»

All of this happened while Hannity asked the camera to capture the moment when the Guardian Angels tackle a man.

After this incident, Sliwa expressed concern about what he considers an increase in crime.

Many believe he tried to justify what the Guardian Angels had just done.

After the altercation, Sliwa provided more details about the incident, attempting to justify why the Guardian Angels would tackle a man on the street.

Sliwa said the man had «been shoplifting first, the Guardian Angels spotted him, stopped him, he resisted, and let’s just say we gave him a little pain compliance.»

Clearly it was an attempt to highlight the effectiveness of his organization in crime prevention, however, police later said the man was not a migrant but a Bronx native.

Fox News reported that the man involved in the altercation received a summons for disorderly conduct, according to reports from the New York Police Department,

This episode illustrates the persistent tension in the city surrounding immigration and security policies.

Some people commented on X (formerly Twitter): «A crime, they have no authority.» «Did Fox News just film a gang assault?»

While others said: «This is a hate crime caught on camera.» «This is outrageous.» «This is scandalous. It seems like a gang assault is taking place.»

Despite political disputes, New York City remains a battleground for debates about immigration, security, and social justice.
