A year after having a civil marriage and almost eight months after welcoming her son Gennaro, Is Francisca Lachapel divorcing? The alarms went off on an episode of Despierta América where memories of the former beauty queen were relived for the show’s 25th anniversary.

Francisca Lachapel’s arrival in the US was not easy and she has gone through many good and bad experiences that definitely marked her for life — from being a waitress in a New York restaurant to being Queen of Nuestra Belleza Latina in the year 2105.

Francisca Lachapel remembers her life journey

After she was the winner of Nuestra Belleza Latina in 2015, without a doubt, Francisca Lachapel ‘enchanted’ the Hispanic public and was chosen to be host on Despierta América. At that time she was very much in love with her partner and husband Rocky Lachapel.

The beautiful brunette said: «I came from a restaurant in New York to be the presenter of the most important program on Hispanic television, how does that happen?» She said that she never imagined that in addition to fulfilling many dreams, she would experience an unpleasant divorce.

The popular host of Despierta América had a painful divorce

Francisca Lachapel never imagined that thanks to Despierta América she would fulfill a very big dream for her mother. Her mother stayed to live in her native country, the Dominican Republic. She tearfully recounted the immense joy of remodeling her mother’s house in Azua.

“Obviously life changes. One earns a little money. You start to make your savings. She cried because she couldn’t believe that her little house that her mother left her that she worked every year doing little things to make it different; it had finally changed,” said the host in tears.

The host struggled to save money to remodel her mother’s house: “…And that God would give me the opportunity to keep my word – because it wasn’t two or three times, I told her hundreds of times: ‘I’m going to fix your little house, I’m going to fix your little house’ – that’s the greatest gift I’ve ever received,” she said, fascinated.

She never imagined that fame and its dark side  would cause problems with her now ex-husband Rocky Lachapel. They wound up going through a difficult divorce that caused her a lot of pain. Even now when she remembers it her voice cracks.

At odds with her ex-husband Rocky Lachapel?

After years together, Francisca and Rocky Lachapel decided to divorce for the good of both. She, herself, announced it on Despierta América, although she said that they were not enemies. The clear example was that after separating, she continued to use her ex’s last name.

However, with her voice breaking, she had to confess that the most painful moment she had on Despierta América was talking about her divorce: “That was a very uncomfortable moment, if not the most uncomfortable that I had here. That moment of having to do a show and talk about a separation, that was very uncomfortable …,” she said with tears in her eyes.

Francisca Lachapel recovered and moved on

And in the face of the difficult time she experienced during her separation from Rocky Lachapel, she recovered when she realized what awaited her later: “Divorce, single again, boyfriend who becomes a fabulous husband and continues with the announcement of the arrival of my son… Here has been the most important transformations of my life,” she pointed out.
