Music producer Cruz Martínez has resurfaced on social media after several days of silence, following serious accusations of domestic violence made by his wife, singer Alicia Villarreal.
This development has caused significant controversy and has become one of the most talked-about topics in the public sphere.
Known as the founder of Kumbia Kings and Los Súper Reyes, Martínez posted two stories on his Instagram account (@mtzcruz) in the early hours of February 19, marking his first activity since the allegations surfaced.
In one of the posts, Cruz shared a reflective message: «No one did witchcraft on you… but you don’t respect your own energy and keep allowing people who are out of alignment with you into your intimate and sacred space.»

Interestingly, the same message had been previously shared by Melenie Carmona, daughter of Alicia Villarreal and actor Arturo Carmona. Shortly after, Martínez posted a second story: a photo showing him hugging Melenie in what appears to be a restaurant. Although it is unclear whether the photo is recent, it raises questions about Melenie’s support for her mother, considering she had shared the same reflective message hours earlier. The controversy began on February 15, when Alicia Villarreal made an international distress signal during a concert in Zitácuaro, Michoacán, to denounce alleged gender-based violence.
This gesture sparked widespread speculation about her personal situation, later confirmed when it was revealed that Villarreal had filed a formal complaint in Monterrey against Martínez for domestic violence, death threats, and theft.
The alleged assault reportedly took place at Villarreal’s residence in Nuevo León after a heated argument, during which Martínez allegedly violently attacked the singer.

It was reported that Martínez tried to strangle her and took away her cell phone and passport.
Following the incident, Alicia Villarreal was taken to a hospital, where she received medical treatment for her injuries.

In her official complaint, she described the theft of her personal belongings during the attack.
On February 17, Villarreal traveled to Mexico City to meet with Citlalli Hernández, head of the Women’s Secretariat, to follow up on her case.
Photos and videos from Villarreal’s recent performance have been widely shared online. One video shows her makeup artist applying makeup to her neck, where visible signs of violence can be seen.
Additionally, internet users shared photos of bruises on her arms that matched images taken at the hospital.
Alicia Villarreal has refrained from making further public statements due to the ongoing legal proceedings but has reposted supportive messages from fans and fellow artists on her social media.
Media reports suggest that Cruz Martínez fled to the United States shortly after the incident on February 15.
Journalist Gustavo Adolfo Infante stated that the producer left Mexico following the altercation.
If the attempted femicide charge proceeds, Martínez could be placed on an Interpol watchlist and face international prosecution.
«If he doesn’t appear at the hearing, he will be officially marked as a fugitive,» warned journalist Cynthia Urias.
