A Brazilian model named Thalita do Valle, who joined the Ukrainian army as a sniper just three weeks ago, was killed by a Russian missile that completely destroyed the bunker she was in, according to The Sun.

Thalita do Valle, only 39 years old, has been on humanitarian missions around the world. She previously fought in Iraq against ISIS and, just under a month ago, she lent her support to the defense of Ukraine from the ongoing Russian invasion.

The Brazilian model was killed in action

According to The Sun, the Brazilian model was killed last week after a missile destroyed her bunker in Kharkiv. The northeastern city, unfortunately, has been under constant bombardment since last February when Vladimir Putin’s army invaded the country.

The devastating news about the death of model Thalita do Valle was not the only bad news. The missile that destroyed the bunker also killed Brazilian soldier Douglas Burigo, 40 years old, who had just returned to that area.

Thalita do Valle had experience in war zones

Thalita do Valle, along with the other soldier from Brazil, were the only ones killed when the missile hit the bunker, according to reports from their companions who continue to fight the war in Ukraine.

The 39-year-old Brazilian model, who had previously studied law at school and later entered the world of modeling, was also pursuing acting. She had documented her experiences in war zones on YouTube, where she reported on her activities.

Thalita do Valle fought in Iraq as well as Ukraine

Thalita do Valle’s videos revealed how she received the training when she decided to join the Peshmergas, a well-known military army of the Kurdistan forces in Iraq. When the news of her death was released, the model’s brother offered a few words.

Theo Rodrigo Viera, the young woman’s brother, described the 39-year-old as a heroine who saved lives and took part in various humanitarian missions. She was working as a rescuer and a sniper in Ukraine.

The devastating war in Ukraine

The model had only been fighting in Ukraine for three weeks where she was also responsible for providing cover from invading Russian forces. It was reported that Thalita do Valle had previously survived a bombing in the the country’s capital, Kyiv.

She had let her family know that she couldn’t talk much on the phone because those calls were being monitored by the Russians. The last time she spoke to her family was last Monday after she moved from the city of Kharkiv, where she unfortunately met her fate.
