Washington’s Chief of Fire and Emergency Services, John Donnelly, confirmed that there are no survivors of the plane crash that occurred last night.
The incident involved a Black Hawk military helicopter and a commercial plane from American Eagle.
Rescue teams have recovered 28 bodies in the icy waters of the Potomac River.
The tasks have gone from being a rescue operation to a recovery of bodies.

«At this time we do not believe there are survivors,» Donnelly said at a press conference.
American Eagle Flight 5342, from Wichita, crashed with the helicopter at 8:48 pm while approaching Ronald Reagan airport.
60 passengers and four crew members were traveling on the plane, while three people were in the helicopter.
The US Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, reported that they have located the remains of both aircraft.
Duffy said the plane made a normal approach before impact.
The fuselage of the plane was invested and was found in three sections in shallow waters.

The weather conditions at the time of the accident were optimal, without strong winds or covered sky.
The helicopter followed a standard flight pattern, while the plane was in a normal approach trajectory.

The water temperature was four degrees Celsius, which made rescue work difficult.
The National Transportation Board will analyze the remains to clarify the causes of the incident.
