Mexican YouTuber known as Super Chinelo, whose real name is Rubén Ortega, was murdered. He was shot several times in Mexico. His wife was seriously wounded in the same attack, while their four-year-old son came unharmed, according to People en Español.

This crime occurred in the midst of a «wave» of violence in the country caused by drug cartels, as well as other homicides that have nothing to do with the struggle between these groups. The news of Super Chinelo’s murder was released on his official Facebook page where the following message was posted: “Unfortunately, everything is true. Our friend and colleague Rubén Ortega passed away. Thank you for showing your support.”

The neighbors called 911 after hearing a series of gunshots and seeing that the famous man was lying on the ground. Just moments after he had gotten out of his vehicle to open the gate to his house two suspects stepped in front of him and opened fire practically at point-blank range. WHY WAS SUPER CHINELO FAMOUS?

Super Chinelo liked to highlight an important part of Mexican culture. He even adopted that name due to his own love for that typical Mexican dance, which originated in Tlayacapan, in the state of Morelos.

On his YouTube channel, he conducted interviews with people he met with the sole objective of spreading Mexican traditions to new generations. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, stated that his administration has reduced homicides by 2.82% during his fourth government report. “We are reducing the incidence of crime, there is no doubt, I have no doubt, I am absolutely convinced and hopefully this can be shared with an increasing number of people in Mexico and in the world, that peace is the fruit of justice”, he said during his speech.
