Alfonso and Adrián were responsible for separate hit and runs

In California and Georgia, two terrible traffic accidents have just happened in which people were seriously injured and the drivers who caused them fled. According to police reports, in both cases they were Hispanic motorists.

Las week, the Greenfield Police Department in California responded to a call for help from witnesses who said that a passerby had just been hit by a car and the driver had fled the scene. When paramedics arrived, they found a man with serious head injuries.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where they managed to stabilize him after performing emergency surgery. Police then began searching for the driver who hit him. Thanks to the surveillance cameras that were in the area, they quickly identified him. On July 26, Lopez tragically died of his injuries.

According to local authorities, the driver is Alfonso Benito Herrera, a 34-year-old Hispanic man. They immediately issued an arrest warrant against him and, at the time of writing this, authorities still had not been able to locate him. Police are asking the community for help in making sure he pays for his crime.

Adrián Pérez hit a 15-year-old girl

Last week something similar happened Cherokee County, northwest of Atlanta. A 15-year-old girl who was crossing the street at a cross walk was run over by a guy who, apparently, was entering information into a GPS device. The girl also survived but she was in serious condition.

Adrián Pérez, 27, also fled without caring at all about leaving the girl behind. The local police managed to arrest him quickly. They found him at his workplace, a Hispanic company called A Garcia Produce and Trucking based in Forest Park.

Captain Jay Baker, who serves as a spokesman for the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, told the local media through a press release that everything indicates that Adrián was distracted when he ran over the girl.

«Our investigators believe that he was manipulating his phone or possibly his GPS in that second that the minor was crossing the street,» the official said.
