  • The FBI executed a search warrant at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
  • Sources claim that former President Donald Trump flushed official White House documents down the toilet.
  • «Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before,» Trump said.

A DESPERATE MEASURE? In the midst of an open investigation against him, and the recent raid on Mar-a-Lago in Florida, sources claim that former President Donald Trump flushed official White House documents down the toilet. Was he trying to hide something?

On Monday, Donald Trump himself confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was executing a search warrant at one of his most important properties, his Mar-a-Lago estate. A book coming out later this year, says that White House sources confirmed Trump was known to flush documents down the toilet while he was president.

«These are dark times for our nation as my beautiful home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach is now being besieged, raided and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,» Trump said in a statement. «Nothing like this has ever happened to a president of the United States before,» he added.

The truth is that there is an open investigation against the former president and the FBI raided his residence in southeast Florida in search of official and classified documents, sources close to the investigation told The New York Times.

Did Trump break the law?

While the FBI was looking for official documents, or some other evidence, in Trump’s mansion, journalist Maggie Haberman tweeted photographs showing pieces of documents with Trump’s handwriting in toilet bowls.

By doing this, Trump would be breaking the law, which clearly establishes that all official or classified Presidential documents must be delivered to the National Archive. Not only that, but he seems to have done it repeatedly while he was president.

“Who knows what this paper was? Only he would know and presumably whoever was dealing with it,” New York Times journalist, Maggie Haberman, told CNN on Monday, as she shared the compromising images from her upcoming book Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America.

Sources from the Trump administration gave the photos to the journalist who recalls that several members of the White House staff confessed to her that when Trump was president he used to flush documents down the toilet, even clogging the pipes. The images are eloquent and, although someone could doubt whether it was really Trump’s handwriting, CNN insisted that it looks authentic.

On Monday, Taylor Budowich, Trump’s spokesman, said that this information was nothing more than a «desperate» strategy by Haberman to sell books. However, the truth is that it is not the first time that the former president has been singled out for mishandling official documents.

In February, the media reported the discovery of several boxes of White House material and information that Trump took to his Florida home, including some letters sent to him by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and the note that Barack Obama left for his successor in the Oval Office.
