Multiple stabbing at Ocean City Boardwalk

Officers responded to calls from witnesses about a fight. «Upon arrival, officers located three victims with stab wounds,» the Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) added, according to the Fox News report.

Victims were airlifted to hospitals

The identities and conditions of the victims were not immediately released. Police also did not specify if the three wounded were involved in the fight that led to the stabbing on the Ocean City Boardwalk. The Ocean City Police Department is investigating the crime.

Violence in the Maryland

The recent stabbing followed a particularly violent weekend in nearby Baltimore, Maryland, where at least 15 people were shot, Fox Baltimore reported. Five of those victims were killed in the citywide shootings over Father’s Day weekend.

Jason Johnson, a former deputy commissioner with the Baltimore Police Department, said violent crime spikes during the summer, when kids are out of school. “When the weather is warm and school is closed, people tend to be outside more. That tends to raise the probability of a confrontation that can lead to violence,” Johnson said, according to Fox Baltimore.
