Carlos Zedán dedicated an emotional farewell message to young vallenato singer Iván José Mindiola on social media: “Have a good trip, partner. How much the soul hurts, but how much it relieves every memory and good moment that you left in your short 26 years. We talked that time about how much it cost you to climb those mountains, which was the heaviest thing in geology, and we promised to work hard to get the shoes and clothing necessary to climb that mountain and others higher.”

Likewise, we wanted to climb into folklore, reach many hearts with your voice and my notes. Today you leave my notes here and your voice goes somewhere else, but I’m sure they will continue to be ‘together’ even with a distance in between. Charm heaven with your voice and with your personality. We’ll meet by the river, meanwhile my Maye will take care of you. I will miss you, accomplice of so many goals. Give me encouragement, and take good care of your followers from there!!!” said the accordion player.
