Chaotic weather threatens the US this week due to the fact that severe storms are forecast for certain parts of the country. On the other hand, experts are also predicting high temperatures that could reach 100 degrees in some states.

According to The Sun, severe electrical storms were forecast for Washington, DC on Wednesday night. They have issued a storm warning in that area. On the other hand, the Midwest and the South are expecting a heat dome that will bring scorching temperatures.

Given these predictions, Washington DC residents saw hot and muggy conditions Wednesday morning before a series of showers arrived throughout the afternoon and evening. After the storms pass, temperatures will cool off for the evening.

According to NBC’s Storm Team4, the first round of rain will fall east of Blue Ridge and along Interstate 95 from 4 to 8 p.m. Then severe thunderstorms will hit the Shenandoah Valley area along Interstate 81 overnight.

According to forecasters, an inch or more of rain is expected to fall in the Washington metropolitan area on Wednesday night. Therefore, residents are warned to take precautions against hazardous driving conditions.

A flood watch is in effect for areas west of Dulles International Airport, portions of Upper Montgomery County and throughout Blue Ridge from 3 to 11 p.m. The rains could return on Thursday during the first half of the day, according to forecasts. Filed Under: United States Weather Alert

Meanwhile, the second heat dome of the year will make its way over parts of the Midwest and South this week, starting as early as Wednesday, pushing temperatures into the 100s. About 70 percent of the US will experience temperatures in the 90s, while 20 percent of the country will see conditions above 100 degrees.

More than nine million people were under a heat advisory in eight northern and central US states, including Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Kansas. Meteorologists have warned residents about heat-related illnesses and encourage them to avoid outdoor activities, drink plenty of fluids and seek an air-conditioned environment when possible to avoid heat stroke.

It should be remembered that last weekend, several cities broke their daily record for high temperatures.
