ALERT: TAKE THE GUMMIES BACK! US authorities are recalling millions of bottles of Airborne Gummies that were sold at Walmart, Target, CVS and Walgreens stores across the United States as they pose a risk to shoppers.

On Wednesday, March 16, the Consumer Product Safety Commission of United States announced that they were recalling millions of Airborne Gummies (bottles of 63 and 75 units) due to risk of injury when the packages are first opened.

The US authorities reported that they are removing the gummies from the shelves, because «when first opened, the pressure build-up in the bottle can cause the cap and underlying seal to pop off with force, posing a risk of injury.»

Manufacturer Reckitt, known as RB Health (US) LLC, took the initiative to pull the product from the market after receiving “70 reports of caps or seals coming off bottles, including 18 reports of minor injuries and one report of a eye injury that required medical attention. according to USA Today.

Which products are they withdrawing?

The recall is not for all bottles of Airborne Gummies. According the official recall:  This withdrawal from the market involves only 63 and 75 count bottles of Airborne Gummies” in blueberry, pomegranate, orange and assorted fruit flavors.

How customers one know their bottle is included in the recall? You can check the UPC numbers «found on the product label and lot codes and expiration dates found on the bottom of the bottle.» THE LIST OF GUMMIES IN RECALL.

Some bottles of gummies will NOT have to be returned

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reported on Twitter that «about 3.74 million bottles of Airborne Gummies Reckitt» are being recalled across the country for «risk of injury» when opening the bottles.

“The bottles that have already been opened are not subject to this recall as they already would have released any build-up of pressure and do not present an injury hazard,» the Reckitt company explained in a recall notice posted on SchiffVitamins.com.

Airborne Gummies of 63 and 75 units were sold in large chain stores in the United States such Walmart, Target, CVS and Walgreens. Also in establishments such as Kroger, Sam’s Club, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Costco and other stores across the country.

They were even sold online on Amazon and Schiff Vitamins. The company explained that the products that are being withdrawn from the market were sold between May 2020 and February 2022 for a value that varies between $18 and $33 dollars.

The authorities and the company indicated that the UPC numbers are on the product label and that the lot codes and expiration dates are on the bottom of the container. This way you can verify if your product is at risk (SEE REFERENTIAL IMAGES ABOVE).

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “Reckitt has received 70 reports from caps or seals popping off the bottles, including 18 minor injury reports and a report of an eye injury that required medical attention.”

The authorities informed consumers that they can request a refund for the return of the defective product. Remember that this only applies if the container is unopened, since after opening it does not represent any risk to the customer. The gummies inside are fine.

“Consumers with unopened bottles should not attempt to open the product and should contact Reckitt to return unopened bottles for a full refund,“ explained the Commission. “A postage-paid label will be provided. Bottles that have already been opened are not subject to this withdrawal as they would have released any pressure buildup and do not present injury hazard.”

This recall was made voluntarily by RB Health (US) LLC (“Reckitt”), of Parsippany, New Jersey, as a way to protect consumers, so if you are one of those affected you can contact them by calling “toll free at 888-266-8003 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.”
