Cory Taylor, 41, had been charged with trafficking but was found dead in an abandoned building several weeks after missing an arraignment. His cause of death is still listed as «undetermined» in court documents, Fox News reported.

Cory Taylor’s fleet of cars, mostly from the 1990s and early 2000s, were found at two properties he owned in North Salem and Holyoke. I have owned a total of 13 Toyota Supras, whose value has increased in recent years, in part due to outstanding appearances in the Fast and Furious movies, according to Fox News.

The car was a 1998 turbo with a six-speed manual transmission and 22,962 on the odometer. It was one of only 24 finished in Quicksilver paint. The highest bid was $265,000, but the auction house handling the sale charges a 15% buyer’s premium, the report explained.

According to The Drive , it was a record sale for a Toyota Supra, apart from one of the actual cars from the film, which was auctioned for $550,000, including premium, by Barrett-Jackson last year, Fox News also mentioned.

A turbocharged 1993 Supra with just 8,169 miles also sold for a high bid of $237,000 ($272,550 with a premium), which would have been a record if it weren’t for the sale of the 1998 car. Several of the other Supras also sold for over $100,000, including a 1997 15th anniversary edition that sold for $195,000 ($224,250 with premium).

The name of the buyer of the rare car was not revealed by Fox News  but it is probably someone with a collection of ‘rides’ who wanted to add another jewel to his garage, in this case, a rare Toyota Supra that might have been driven by a drug trafficker who has since passed away.
