Good news for video game lovers! On Wednesday the trailer for the new Pokémon game was released. The new characters who will star in this adventure were revealed. The game won’t go on sale until November 18.

According to The Washington Post, a Pokémon Presents was held on Wednesday where the company revealed more information about their upcoming mainline game that fans have been eagerly waiting for: «Scarlet and Violet”. It’s one of the most anticipated video games this year.

The new characters of the video game were shown in a trailer. Now the coaches are students at an academy. In the same way, there is a new world that will also have a great new variety of Pokémon.

The legendary protagonists Koraidon and Miraidon were also in the trailer. They can change shape to function as a kind of vehicle to move the trainers while crossing the region by land, sea and sky.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The first open world game in the mainline series

Following the launch of the new video game, the Pokémon Company claims that this generation will be the mainline series’ first open-world game. They showcased the various professors and rivals that players will meet and new regional forms of fan-favorite Pokémon like Wooper.

According to The Washington Post, this new version will have three playable routes, although it is not clear how different they will be. Gamers will be able to enjoy this new adventure through their Nintendo Switch console.

New updates

During the presentation of  Scarlet and Violet it was revealed that you will have the option of an online multiplayer mode. So far it is unclear if this new multiplayer mode will follow the main story and gameplay or will be a separate mode in the game.

However, the shapeshifting mechanic will also be different, as the Terastal phenomenon makes your Pokémon glow in a crystalline form and supercharges them with stronger moves. They also revealed that all types of monsters can be Terastal-ized.

The new battles

As for the new battles that gamers will have, raid battles were included in the game, which resembles the Max Raid battle system of the last generation. But, in this new version of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players can heal and attack based on timed inputs.
