The indictment against the ten Salvadoran MS-13 gang members reveals that the detainees were not ordinary members of the dangerous gang. The defendants are part of the leadership of the gang in Texas and with criminal ties to Maryland.

Jennifer B. Lowery, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas, stated that the arrests of the ten MS-13 gang members is “an important step in curbing crime in Texas and a message to criminal organizations that federal authorities are working with local corporations to stop their violence.”
