Mother strangles her own son. It is said that a mother would do anything for her children, but one case in particular has caused outrage. Samantha Moreno-Rodriguez murdered her 7-year-old son. Authorities said she was arrested and confessed that she committed the crime because she was «frustrated».

The little boy’s naked body was left next to a trail and was found a short time later. It was confirmed that at first police did not suspect his mother but later she confessed.

Samantha Moreno-Rodriguez, 36, confessed to killing her son who was found dead on a hiking trail, court records show. She allegedly strangled seven-year-old Liam Husted before dumping his remains in Nevada in May 2021.

Husted was found naked by hikers on May 28 in the Mountain Springs area, about 30 miles southwest of Las Vegas. His mother said that he undressed him because she believed that people would not link him to her if he was not wearing clothes since, according to her, they would not find traces of her. Police did not suspect his mother

Robert Ochsenhirt of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told prosecutors that Moreno-Rodriguez strangled Husted for 10 to 15 minutes, according to her confession.

Why did she do it?

Samantha Moreno-Rodríguez admitted to the police that she had been «frustrated» with the child since he suffered from autism and she was tired from caring for him. She had decided to «find a new home» for them, according to the boy’s father.

The boy’s father said Moreno-Rodriguez left a note that read: “I’m sorry I had to do it that way. I’m trying to get a house for Liam and I.» The man also added that this message was very visible and that it seemed to be left where he would see it when he entered the house, according to The Sun. According to The Sun, Liam’s father reported to police that the mother and child were missing a week later, on June 1, by which time his son’s unidentified body had already been found.
