MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, USA (AP) – Jorge Polanco hit a decisive three-run home run in the 10th inning and the Minnesota Twins completed a four-game series sweep against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday with a 12-9 win. Polanco hit a 3-2 sinker from Tigers reliever Derek Holland (1-2) 395 feet into the left field bleachers for his 12th homer of the season.

Catcher Jake Rogers had given the Tigers a 9-8 lead with a grand slam in the top of the ninth inning, but catcher Ben Rortvedt tied the score with a solo homer on the closing. Tyler Duffey (1-2) was the winner by hanging zero in the 10th. Rogers was apparently going to give the Tigers an unlikely win with his hit off Minnesota reliever Taylor Rogers, who allowed two hits and a walk to fill the house. Rogers hit the first pitch and landed the first grand slam of his career.
