  • One of the suspects in the mass stabbing in Canada is found dead.
  • Ten people were killed in the incident.
  • Canadian officials confirmed the news in a press conference.

Canadian authorities confirmed the death of one of the mass stabbing suspects who murdered 10 people in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. But, the most curious thing about the incident was that the suspect was found dead in another indigenous reserve where he was hiding. Authorities continue to investigate.

The attack at an indigenous reserve caused shock and anger in the community. The authorities had spent more than two days trying to find the suspects in the mass stabbing. The Canadian police, in their initial statements, indicated that those responsible had already committed a similar heinous act in another nearby indigenous community.

After the murder of 10 people in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan was revealed, the Canadian authorities announced that, after an arduous massive pursuit, one of the alleged culprits died in a strange way.

The Canadian Police reported at a press conference that they located the body of Damien Sanderson, 31, near a house on the James Smith Cree Nation indigenous reservation, in the province of Saskatchewan, where the attack occurred, EFE reported. The authorities revealed that they are investigating the incident.

Canadian police reported that the body of the alleged suspect was located out in the open and that it was near a house on an indigenous reservation. They stated that the man had visible injuries but they did not believe they were self-inflicted at that time.

“His body was located outdoors in a heavily grassed area in proximity to a house that was being examined. We can confirm he has visible injuries. These injuries are not believed to be self inflicted at this point,” RCMP Assistant Commissioner for Commanding Officer Rhonda Blackmore said, adding that they were still unsure of the exact cause of death, according to the AP.

Regina Police Chief Evan Bray said Damien Sanderson, 31, was found dead near the stabbing sites and they believe his brother, Myles Sanderson, 30, is injured, at large and likely in the capital of Regina. It was the first time police had identified the two as brothers, the AP reported.

Rhonda Blackmore, commander of the Mounted Police in Saskatchewan, confirmed that Myles Sanderson is Damien’s brother and that he may be injured. Shortly after, the police officer did not rule out the possibility that Damien Sanderson had died in a confrontation with his brother, according to EFE.

The discovery of the body occurred on the second day of a massive manhunt for the pair, suspected of carrying out a series of stabbings in an indigenous community and a nearby town, which also left 18 people injured. It was one of the deadliest attacks in the nation’s history, the AP reported.

“Myles has a long criminal history of both crimes against people and property. Myles is facing three counts of manslaughter and is wanted. He’s considered armed and dangerous. Don’t let anyone get close to him,» Blackmore said at the press conference that took place after the suspect’s death was confirmed. Filed Under: Murder Suspect Dies Canada

Authorities have said some of the victims were targeted and others appeared to have been chosen at random from the James Smith Cree Nation and the Saskatchewan town of Weldon. They have not given a motive for the crimes, but a senior indigenous leader suggested that drugs were somehow involved, The Associated Press reported.

While they believe Myles is in Regina, about 210 miles (335 kilometers) south of where the stabbings occurred, authorities have issued alerts in Canada’s three vast prairie provinces, which also include Manitoba and Alberta, and communicated with United States border officials, reported AP.
