Irvin Hernandez Flores killed his father José Hernández and his stepmother Yessenia Soto Hernández at their home in front of his 11-year-old  sister. He also livestreamed the murders on Facebook. The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) arrested the 23-year-old ex-marine after the brutal crime.

Police say that Irvin Hernández Flores served in the United States Marine Corps. A disturbing detail in the case is that the young man shot his father and stepmother to death while doing a Facebook live.

The San Francisco County District Attorney in California reported that Irvin Hernández Flores seemed «happy and proud» in the video he made while his father José Hernández could be seen lying in a pool of blood and Yessenia Soto Hernández was dying from several gunshot wounds.

According to the case report sent to MundoNow, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:45 in the morning police were called to a house at 1100 Ingerson Avenue in San Francisco.

The report received by the SAFD officers detailed that several shots had been fired at that address. The report does not reveal who called the police. Officers entered the house where they found Irvin Hernández Flores armed and drunk.

When the SFD officers entered the house, José Hernández, 47, and Yessenia Soto Hernández, 41, were still alive despite having been shot several times. Paramedics from the San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) responded to the scene.

The SFFD took husband and wife José Hernández and Yessenia Soto Hernández to a hospital in hopes of saving their lives. However, the couple died in the emergency room. The officers requested the presence of the Homicide Division to investigate Irvin Hernández Flores.

The detectives of the Homicide Division of the SFFD recovered a video from Irvin Hernández Flores’ Facebook account showing the moment when he kills his father and stepmother in cold blood while his little sister watches, terrified.

Irvin Hernández Flores is being held in the San Francisco County Jail on two counts of murder, one count of robbery and one count of endangering a minor. The motive for the killing is not recorded in the documents.

The case of Irvin Hernández Flores took a turn that raises many questions when he requested to speak with KTVU-Channel 2 from San Francisco, California. A reporter went to the jail to interview the young man.

Irvin Hernández Flores told KTVU-Channel 2 reporter Amber Lee that he had had to kill his father José Hernández because he had sexually abused a relative. The crime was a way to stop the victim’s suffering. According to the young man, Yessenia Soto Hernández was caught up in the shooting.

The brutal crime of Irvin Hernández Flores is just one of thousands of incidents and deaths from firearms. The organization National Archive on Gun Violence reported that so far in 2022, 27,874 people have already died in shooting incidents.

As of Tuesday, August 16, 2022, of those people shot to death in the United States, a total of 12,760 were killed and 15,114 committed suicide. The country has already suffered 418 mass shootings, in which at least four people were shot dead in the same event.
