One of the most conventional methods to register to vote in the United States is by mail. However, this option only for citizens who reside within the national territory. Registering with Vote.org is quick and easy. According to the website, it only takes two minutes to fill out the online form and it is intended only for residents of the United States. Enter the requested information on their online form and you’re set. You will need to provide: First and last name, address where the voter resides, zip code, date of birth and email address.

Register to vote in person

A practical way to register to vote is by going to a registrar’s office or Department of Motor Vehicles in your county of residence. In this case, the voter must carefully fill out a form provided by officials there. A clerk will validate the information provided and approve or reject the request. Finally, they will send a voter card to the citizen’s address.

One of the main requirements to vote in the United States is to be 18 years old by the day of the elections in which you wish to participate. This is in addition to being a US citizen and meeting the requirements, with some exceptions. Among these exceptions is that of providing a residence address. Homeless persons who meet the other requirements are exempt from this rule. Unnaturalized residents will not be able to participate in most elections.
