The Farmers’ Almanac has been providing long-term weather forecasts since 1818 and this year it has warned of a frigid winter and cold temperatures that residents will experience across most of US during the last months of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.

Climate experts predict that this winter very cold temperatures could be registered in the southern part of the country but the weather could be even colder in some areas of the Great Lakes, the Northeast, and the northern United States.

That’s not all because the almanac has also indicated in its forecasts that people in some northern regions of the country will have to deal with extremely cold temperatures and that could mean that thermometers will drop to 40 degrees below zero in January 2023.

Meanwhile, temperatures in the northwestern United States are expected to remain cool and in the southwestern United States they are expected to be mild. In other words, the cold will be felt throughout much of the United States, but some will enjoy pleasant weather, while the majority will have to endure extreme temperatures.

A truly stormy winter is predicted for the eastern half of the country, the almanac forecasts indicate. The low temperatures could also be accompanied by heavy rain, snow, sleet, hail, among other inclement weather.

Climate experts have warned that January 2023 will be the stormiest month of the winter season in various areas of the country, including Texas and Oklahoma, where they expect a lot of snow to fall during the first week, reported Cleveland19.

Another point highlighted by the almanac is that during the winter months the climate in the southwestern part of the country will remain dry, which would further complicate the drought in that area. Residents of the United States have been warned and there is nothing left but to prepare for the devastating winter.

For its part, Farmers’ Almanac reported that its 2022-2023 predictions will be available for sale for $7.99 starting August 15, 2022 and in them people will be able to find 16-month weather forecasts starting in September 2022.
