A horrible incident with images that may upset some readers. A woman identified as Erica Black is facing an animal cruelty charge in Florida after she was recorded choking and beating her pet Chihuahua, Fox News reported on Friday, August 12.

In a video posted to social media Thursday, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivy described 32-year-old Erica Black as a «shameful individual.» Without holding back, he stated, «This woman, Erica Black, is without a doubt the most despicable excuse for a human being that I have ever seen in my life.»

The sheriff noted that Erica Black had already been in the county jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she stabbed a 68-year-old man twice. However, he stated that the video of the moment in which she killed Sadie, the dog which, according to Fox 35 was recorded last October, was the most horrible thing that he had seen in his life.

“There is a special place in hell for this woman. Until she gets there, she’s going to rot in our jail,” Sheriff Wayne Ivy stated. While her initial bail was set at $150,000, a judge set another bail for her at $15,000 for the shocking attack on her pet, Fox News reported.

The police department did not release the full video of the horrific incident, which was turned over to authorities by Erica Black’s roommate. They did reveal that the security camera recorded her holding the dog under water for several minutes.

In the recording, Sadie was seen struggling to breathe until her corpse floated into the pool. Erica Black reportedly recorded the chihuahua’s body, grabbing it and slamming it against the pool deck four times, while two other dogs watched the disturbing incident.

According to Sheriff Wayne Ivy, the defendant left the dog’s body on the couch for several days and then live-streamed the body on social media. “If I even hear that she has a pet rock, I will lose my *** because this woman does not deserve to have anything,” he asserted.

At the end of Wayne Ivy’s deposition, he escorted Erica Black to the Women’s Prison Annex. “You know, usually when I accompany people, I have something to say to them. I’m disgusted with you,” he told her. He also stated that Brevard County has zero tolerance for animal cruelty.
