A 19-year-old young man was arrested after a deadly dispute over a bottle of hot sauce in Denver.
The incident occurred on Sunday in the 2300 block of North Federal Boulevard, near the Sloan Lake and Jefferson Park neighborhoods.
Denver Police responded to a report of a stabbing that left one person dead.
According to a probable cause document obtained by FOX31, police apprehended George Vigil.
The Reason Behind the Stabbing in Denver: A Sandwich and Hot Sauce
Vigil stated that someone in the house wanted to make a sandwich and asked where the hot sauce was.
Vigil mentioned that the hot sauce was in a room on the second floor, which triggered an argument among family members.
According to the report, the victim challenged George Vigil to a fight following the altercation.
The victim sustained two stab wounds—one to the ribs and another to the back.
The individual was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead at 5:59 p.m.
George Vigil was arrested with blood-stained hands and clothing, according to the report.
While being taken to the police car, Vigil requested a lawyer.
A witness explained that the victim had a relationship with Vigil and regularly visited the house.
Vigil was held without bail after his initial court appearance on Monday.
The case has been sealed by the judge overseeing the charge.
