He emphasized that this doesn’t mean he dislikes traditional Mexican food, contrary to how his earlier comments made it sound.

This seemingly modest gesture carries significant weight, signifying a step forward in the campaign to rebuild the band’s reputation.
«I don’t dislike it, I’m just cautious with sauces and spiciness, but I genuinely enjoy Mexican food,» Jairo shared during the interview.
The sight of the musicians eating a quintessential Mexican meal was a powerful signal to their audience.
Their goal was to learn more about Mexican culture and cuisine, seeking to appease those who were offended by the recent uproar.

Jairo’s sister, Yahritza Martínez, said, «We do enjoy Mexican food, though he’s a bit picky when it comes to salsa or guacamole.»
Additionally, the band acknowledged the importance of their Mexican heritage and how their connection to it has been shaped by their experiences.
«We never had the opportunity to visit our ancestral hometown, Jiquilpan, Michoacán, during our childhood,» Armando, another band member, shared.
He went on to explain that not being completely in touch with their roots had a considerable impact and that their recent trip to Mexico was a novel experience for them.
Yahritza y su Esencia is trying to make amends
An image of the group being served soda in a bag began circulating on social media.
Yahritza addressed the situation, saying that she wasn’t disgusted by this, she was merely being playful when being handed a beverage in a bag.
She said: «It wasn’t like ew, how gross,» trying to clarify what happened.
«When he records me, I always make a face. He’s always recording me and it happened at the same time I was handed the bag… and it looked bad, but it wasn’t because, ‘Oh, this is disgusting,’ with malice,» she added.
Yahritza doesn’t like speaking Spanish?
Furthermore, Yahritza also talked about speaking Spanish with Pepe Garza. She said she’s more comfortable speaking English because of her upbringing, even though she sings in Spanish, according to UNO TV.
«I wanted to answer, not in a bad way or anything, I just wanted to answer, that just because I sing in Spanish, it doesn’t mean that I have to speak in Spanish,» she said.
«I speak Spanish every day with my parents, but I feel more comfortable speaking in English because I grew up speaking English,» added the singer.
Despite public apologies and eating Mexican food with Pepe Garza, the band acknowledges they have an uphill battle when it comes to fully regaining their fans’ trust. See photos here.
