Former wrestler Billy Jack Haynes faces murder charges following the fatal shooting of his wife in Portland, Oregon.
William Albert Haynes Jr., 70, known in the ring as Billy Jack Haynes, was arrested and taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center after a confrontation with the police.
Charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon, Haynes is accused of killing Janette Becraft, 85.

Authorities from the Portland Police Bureau stated that Janette Becraft was found dead inside her residence in the Lents neighborhood.
The incident occurred on February 8 when police responded to a report of shots fired at the couple’s address, where they encountered the wrestler.
Following a two-hour standoff, police detained Haynes and found Becraft deceased at the scene, declaring her death a homicide by gunshot wound.
Becraft’s daughter, Kim Becraft Finlay, shared an emotional message on Facebook, remembering her mother as a beautiful soul, now «flying with the angels.»
Haynes was involved in drug trafficking in the 80s
Haynes, who had a prominent career in professional wrestling, retired from the ring in 1996 after competing in various circuits and promotions.
He was a part of the World Wrestling Federation, where he competed in Wrestlemania III in 1987, according to People.
In addition to his career in the ring, Haynes has been known for his involvement in drug trafficking networks in the 1980s.
In 2018, he claimed to have witnessed the deaths of two teenagers in Arkansas under circumstances related to drug trafficking and police corruption.
