In a shocking case of alleged theft, a woman has been accused of stealing nearly $40,000 from a man she met at a Las Vegas casino.

The incident occurred on June 12, when the woman, identified as Mónica Falcón, met the victim at a casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

After sharing some drinks at the casino, the man invited her to his apartment, where, according to police documents, the alleged theft took place.

The next morning, the man woke up to find that $600 in cash was missing.

But that wasn’t all—upon checking his bank account, he noticed his balance had dropped from $17,000 to a negative $6,500.

Additionally, he found email notifications of a $4,912 Venmo transaction and a $17,500 transfer from his cryptocurrency account.

These actions left the man with an estimated total loss of approximately $40,000.

After receiving the report, police reviewed the casino’s surveillance footage to identify the suspect.

Although the man admitted he couldn’t remember many details from the night, he stated he could recognize the woman if he saw her again.

Eventually, the footage helped investigators identify Mónica Falcón.

Falcón has a criminal history that includes previous charges for solicitation, prostitution, and trespassing.

Investigators were able to contact Falcón through a phone number associated with her.

They invited her to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) headquarters to provide a statement. However, Falcón refused to cooperate, simply responding «no» to the investigators’ request.

The woman had other antecedents

In August, Mónica Falcón was arrested and faces charges of theft valued at $25,000 or more, but less than $100,000.
