The incident began to unfold on May 15 when police were called to Children’s Wisconsin, a local hospital, to investigate a potential case of child abuse.
The child, brought to the hospital by their parents, had marks and scratches on their body, according to FOX 6.
Urine tests revealed the presence of cocaine in the child’s system, a finding that not only alarmed the parents but also triggered an exhaustive police investigation.
The investigation led to the arrest of a 24-year-old woman, an employee of KinderCare, who was taken to Milwaukee County Jail.

The charges she faces are severe: child neglect, possession of a controlled substance and possession of cocaine.
Authorities have referred these charges to the district attorney’s office, which now must decide the next steps in the judicial process.
In response to the arrest and ongoing investigation, KinderCare issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to the safety of the children in their care.
«Nothing is more important to us than the safety of the children in our care. The teacher involved is out of our center on administrative leave while police continue their investigation,» the company stated.
