The most affected areas include southern Mississippi and Alabama, particularly from Hattiesburg to Montgomery, where the threat level has been raised to 3 out of 5, according to meteorological reports.
In Columbia, Mississippi, at least one tornado was spotted moving through the area.

Local authorities urged residents to take shelter before the storm, though no injuries have been reported so far.
«We believe this is the tornado here in Columbia. It was seen moving between Broad Street and Church Street, near East Avenue.»
«Law enforcement is reporting debris within the tornado. It’s not a massive one, but it appears to have touched down after entering the city,» said Columbia Mayor Justin McKenzie.
Cody Stevens, a Columbia resident, expressed concern after seeing the tornado pass dangerously close to his home.

According to Findenergy.com, fewer than 200 customers lost power in the Columbia area, with the largest outages reported near the Mississippi River.
Further east, in Thomasville, Alabama, the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Mobile issued a tornado warning, describing the situation as “particularly dangerous.”
Radar detected debris lifted more than 15,000 feet into the air, a sign of the tornado’s strength, according to Fox Weather.
After the storm passed, damage was reported in Coffeeville, Alabama, where trees and power lines were downed.
Authorities have extended the tornado warning until Wednesday night for parts of southwest Alabama, southern Mississippi, and southern Louisiana.
Meteorologists are urging residents to stay alert and follow safety protocols as more tornadoes and extreme weather conditions remain a threat.
