Paty Bunbury Murdered: entertainment journalist in Colima

Patricia Ramírez González, also known as «Paty Bunbury,» was a well-known entertainment reporter and business owner.

She was tragically killed on Wednesday, October 30.

This marks the second journalist killed since Claudia Sheinbaum took office on October 1.

A man entered Paty Bunbury’s restaurant in Colima, Mexico, and shot her multiple times.

Immediately following the incident, the Colima State Attorney General’s Office launched an investigation.

Just hours before her death, the entertainment journalist had been active on social media.

For nearly a decade, Patricia Ramírez González worked as a reporter for the magazine Hechos Espectáculos.

She was also a member of the Colima Journalists’ Association (COPECO).

Her nickname, Paty Bunbury, stemmed from her admiration for the Spanish band Héroes del Silencio.

In addition to her work in journalism, she served as the photographer for the tribute band Senderos del Silencio.

She also ran her own restaurant, where this tragic event took place.

Named «Paty Bunbury. Desayunos, comidas y lonchería,» it served Mexican snacks and pozole.

According to N+, this is the first documented attack on a journalist or media professional in Colima.

The authorities are investigating whether this crime is connected to the drug-related history of Paty’s family.
