Who murdered Ashley Yamileth Paz? Her crime is an enigma (PHOTOS)

Ashley Yamileth Paz was shot to death in Manassas, Virginia, in a strange crime for which no one has yet been arrested.

The young woman, barely 18 years old, was a young mother of a little girl and the Hispanic community is shocked by her death.

In Prince William County, police have identified a car that could be linked to the death of Ashley Yamileth Paz.

However, at the time of writing this story, investigators have not revealed what relationship the owner of that car has with the dead girl.

Does anyone know who killed young Ashley Yamileth Paz?

At 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024, the emergency number in Manassas, Virginia received a call alerting about a shooting.

The area where the shootings were reported is a semi-rural space, with large lots among the woods, with a community of calm and peaceful people.

William County Police Department (WCPD) troopers responded to the scene of the report.

In a wooded area at the intersection of Pineview Road and Cregger Lane, officers found Ashley Yamileth Paz lying severely injured.

Police do not believe the crime was a random act

According to the first WCPD officers who arrived on the scene, young Ashley Yamileth Paz had at least one gunshot wound to the head.

Despite the officers’ efforts to help Ashley, they could not do anything for the Hispanic girl and she was declared dead at the scene.

It is still unclear to WCPD investigators why the young mother was in the wooded area, as she was not a resident of the area.

Police do not believe Ashley’s killing was a random act, but they are still unclear as to what the motive was in her death.

A blue Elantra car could be the key to the crime

Thanks to video cameras and witness testimonies, agents have a clue about a blue car that could be related to the death of Ashley Yamileth Paz.

Officers identified a blue Hyundai Elantra with Virginia license plate TVT-8777 that fled the scene after the shooting.

A couple of images of that car were released by authorities in the hope that someone will identify the driver and his whereabouts.

WCPD is asking the Hispanic community in Virginia to call 703.792.6500 if anyone has reliable information about the crime.

«She will be remembered as… the mother of her beautiful baby»

Ana Membreno, whose relationship with the murdered girl is not detailed, opened the account Ashley Yamileth Paz on the social media GoFundMe to help her family with the funeral.

«She will be remembered as a mother to her beautiful baby, a very noble and kind daughter, sister and friend,» Ana Membreno wrote of Ashley.

According to the GoFundMe message, the murdered young woman had «a beautiful smile, she left an indelible mark on all of us who knew her.»

All funds raised will go towards the young woman’s funeral expenses and a fund to help her baby.

Firearm deaths are on the rise

The brutal shooting death of Ashley Yamileth Paz in Manassas, Virginia, is one more of the violent incidents by Firearms in United States.

According to the organization Gun Violence Archive, so far in 2024,  9,670 people were already shot dead in shooting attacks.

As of Monday, July 15, 2024, a total of 18,539 people have been seriously injured after being shot in an act of violence.

In addition, the United States has already recorded 310 mass shootings in which at least four people died in the same violent attack.
