Her care team made the announcement that she has been diagnosed with dementia and aphasia on Wednesday, February 21.
The details emerge just ahead of the release of a new documentary about her recent troubles, in an effort to put to rest rumors and speculation about her health.

The press release is described as a «very personal update» that seeks to clarify Williams’ medical situation.
Her team claims that, while her struggles with Graves’ disease and lymphedema were already publicly known, she is now facing something else.
According to TMZ, she had been losing her train of thought and exhibiting erratic behavior.
Her care team says, «In 2023, after undergoing a battery of medical tests, Wendy was officially diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).»
